Samuel Finley Patterson was created strictly from two or three old photographs. Mr. Patterson set up a textile plant in Roanoke Rapids while there was basically nothing there and thus became the founding father and philanthropist of Roanoke Rapids. He is depicted with a weaving shuttle in one hand and two rolls of drawing paper in the other.
